Dropped my favorite eyepiece!

I was packing up in too much of a hurry.

It seems to be OK, but is there a way to check? I had an out-of-focus look through my telescope once I got everything inside. The blur was even accross the field of view, and there were no disturbing crack-shaped anomalies.

I think you'll have to wait until you can use it in ernest, befor eyou can detect any damage.

I feel your pain. I dropped my favourite EP (32mm Plossel) and it has a very nice crack across the lens.

Totally useless now. I have replaced it with a 30mm Vixen EP and life is once good again.

If it isn't marked on the glass and has no cracks then all that could be wrong would be slight misalignment and that's not at all likely. If it doesn't seem good when you try it I'd just loosen the lock ring a little and tap it gently on a table for a while to resttle the elements than retighten. But I think it'll be fine.

Tried it out on some trees this morning - it look unharmed. I'll be more careful in future.

If you are on hard standing or even grass for that matter, one or even two well positioned deep pimpled type rubber car mats, may save you a lot of heart ache in the future, but don`t trip over them in the dark.
