some better conditions last week, very steady

thought gud seeing was a myth but maybe not sure now

image on laptop screen and avi showed a bit more detail than previous attempt,

heres my 1st process which required alot less wavelets than my other efforts so far, more details on pic

10fps astrocapture and gimp2,

stacked 780 and 1100 out of 1500 frames

i also saved seperate RGB channels as fits just to see what quality was like,

G and R channel are fairly gud but B channel is very bad

would be gud to do a version without B channel not sure how i would do this,

but prob try find out, to give it a try

cheers James

James,

Registax V5 will do this for you if you use "colour mixing" found on the wavelets tab. Just slide the Blue slider all the way to the left, and tick the "Create Luminance from RGB" Box at the top left. You may wish to play with the Red and Green sliders as well to see what effect it will have. This process will alter the colour balance a bit but usually not too much. :D

many thx for all comments guys

very good set of jovial images you got there James,

did you use mono RGB cam to take these images, as I do not understand how you saved RGB channels separately ;)

sorry if confused people

i'm using unmodded colour webcam

once avi has been aligned and stacked with some wavelets done

i normally save as BMP or Jpeg for further processing

u can also save as seperate RGB fits files

these show seperate channels in greyscale

gimp can open fits files or registax

u could then modify (wavelets and or sharpening) channels seperately before recombining

B channel is always poorer than R and G so u could be less harsh with processing B channel and see if it makes difference

u could also make up RRGB combination or LRGB

something worth looking into and giving it a trial or two as gud data could benefit

thx for info Clayton i have noticed this section u mentioned in registax

will have mess about and see what i can come up

not really sure what to do, but will give it a try

anyone recommend a combining RGB software

think i read somewhere astra image can do this ?

thx again for all comments

and sorry if confused anyone

James
