I recently connected my modified Canon EOS 450D (it comes from the Far East and hence is named the 'Kiss X2' :)) to a 30-year-old 135mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens which I used at f/4 for sharpness. Hereby the result: 18 frames of 3 minutes each at ISO 800.
