Draw a Veil over this one!

Just to join in the fun I had a go at the Veil Nebula last night. Starry Night showed me that with the ED80 and 1000D I could get both NGC6960 and NGC6992 in the shot, so out came the kit from the garage and off we went.

I managed to get 10x4m, but subsequent processing showed that its not nearly enough to get low noise images with detail. Also it was quite warm and I'm not sure the library dark I was using was up to it. However, I was quite pleased to get both in the image. I'm always impressed with the accuracy of EQMOD after its been set up. I guess it shows the limitations of short exposures and an unmodded camera. Maybe try a close up with the C8 SCT next time, or go for longer exposures! Thanks for looking.
