Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on with Imaging Source at the moment? I had my heart set on a 31 series firewire in mono and it seems they have vanished off the face of the earth?????

How do you mean "vanished" ?

The USB version is available on FLO and I've seen the firewire version in other shops - e.g. Opticstar but if I were you I would contact the guys at FLO - they should be able to help.

By vanished, I mean no-one seems to have a firewire version nor do they know when they will get any....

IS has had some problems sourcing components for the FireWire versions; they were quoting 8 to 12 weeks lead-time.

Wow, that is a long time and certainly not in time for Kelling! Anyone got any suggestions for a good planetary cam for an LX200GPS 8"?

D*K31 are quite slow due to bigger CCD + speed halved due to the circular artifacts in all TIS and other cameras.

You can choose from old:

- DMK21

- Lumenera Skynyx

Or new:

- QHY IMG0H (USB, not public yet)

- Basler Ace (GigE)

- Point Grey Flea 3 (Firewire 800)

Thanks for the info, I will look into the cameras you suggest. To complicate matters, I use Mac OSX but can run windows if I have to, so makes the choice harder!

Imaging Source are having problems sourcing components and at present we're been quoted fairly long lead times for all their camera's.

Photonboy, if you're going to Kelling you're more than welcome to borrow my DMK31 firewire for the duration ... this is subject to me remembering to bring it and me remembering to bring my Lodestar....
