My best attempt so far, really quite pleased with it even though the stars are a little bloated. I was having trouble with the focuser slipping.

Anyway, 30 subs at 40 seconds, ISO 800 with an Antares 6.3 focul reducer, registered and stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, Noels Light Pollution action run, tweaked colour levels and unsharp mask.

Really nice.

I have been afraid to try this target because of the large difference between the bright and dim areas. You make it look too easy.

just got back from my weekend , hey !! Daz mate first class image , i do like this , it has alovely smooth texture with it and show amazing detail , good one Daz , meee i was away and would u believe clear skies , , story of my life eh

Anthony - I was going to take some shorter exposures for the core and then try some fancing footwork in Photoshop, but I forgot!!

I should also say that it was dark frame corrected as well - 5 x 40 second frames for the dark frame.

How are you operating the camera - remote shutter release, or via software?

ps any LPR filter?

The camera (350D) was operated via DSLRFocus and no, there was no LPR filter. I was using the 6.3 FR, and I don't have a 2" filter as yet. I used Noels Actions in Photoshop to remove the LP.

Saving up for a 2" IR/UV and Neodymium!!

Keep coming back to have look at this Daz. Have been looking at a lot of M31 images recently and this is one of the best monos I've seen. Good edit by James as well.
