Hey everyone,

I haven't posted anything in a while now, I was using my C80ED on a Nexstar 114 GT but I just can't get it balanced right anymore. My camera is a Canon 1000D with 18-55 and 55-250 lenses, I'm seriously thinking about getting a 550D this week and would love a little EQ1 tabletop mount for doing some longish exposure widefields too. Here are some widefields I've taken over the months.

Hi Jamie,

Lovely set of images, love the rising moon, and well done on

bagging the comet.

Like you, the 550D has caught my eye. The noise levels are

very low and would be an ideal astro/general purpose camera.

Gary Honis (DSLR MODS on Yahoo!) is doing some evaluation

tests at the moment, so that may be of interest.

I'm keeping an eye the prices at the moment, and there are

some good offers under £600.

Thanks for the comments JonH and MickyWay!

MickyWay thanks for the info. I've been reading and watching loads of reviews about it on Youtube and it looks like an awesome camera, my video camera is really old now so being able to film in HD would be great too. I'll only be getting the body, its going for around £560 on Ebay and £600 in Parkcameras. For the price range and for what it offers I haven't seen anything as good.
