Globulars with the brightest stars

Recommended Posts

I like looking at globulars, but I have only been able to make out the stars in M13 and M3 with my 102mm mak. Which other globulars have stars bright enough for me to resolve? A small globular might have a lower apparent magnitiude but brighter individual stars, if you see what I mean. I've looked on sites like SEDS but they don't always list the brightest stellar magnitudes...

What about M10 and M14? I know they are in the sky right at the moment, I just haven't had much luck finding them... They seem to be quite nearby by globular cluster standards.

Messier globular clusters and constellation that are above Mag8:

M13 Great Globular Cluster Hercules 5.8

M22 Sagittarius Cluster Sagittarius 6.5

M3 Globular cluster Canes Venatici 7.0

M5 Globular cluster Serpens 7.0

M55 Globular cluster Sagittarius 7.0

M2 Globular cluster Aquarius 7.5

M4 Globular cluster Scorpius 7.5

M10 Globular cluster Ophiuchus 7.5

M15 Pegasus Cluster Pegasus 7.5

M92 Globular cluster Hercules 7.5

M12 Globular cluster Ophiuchus 8.0

M62 Globular cluster Ophiuchus 8.0

No idea which are high enough at the moment. :)

Anyone know how to stop tabs/multiple spaces being compressed?
