Solar observation records?

I just had my first white light solar viewing and I want to record it. How would I go about keeping a record like this? Is there a standardised system or do people just write what they see? I saw some sunspots and have sketched roughly what I saw. Also I noticed that a rotation system seems to be used, so what rotation would the sun be on now?

thanks

I use a very crude method, by drawing a disk in PowerPoint, sketching any visuals on to the printed version, and then drawing the sketch in PowerPoint. It's very interesting flicking through the slides as a slide show, although I haven't worked out the rotation compensation yet. I also find it useful pasting in some of the best images from the forums to compare with my sketch (I'm viewing in H-alpha with a PST).
