TheThing
I've recently purchased a single axis motor drive for my EQ3-2 mount (thanks Phil). The bit that connects the motor to the RA spindle is a bit too small for my mount though (or my spindle is a bit too big for the connector).Does anyone know if I can purchase a larger connector or a thinner spindle at all? If so, where from? Thanks in advance.

Cornelius Varley
Is the drive specifically for the EQ3-2 ?. The flexible coupling should fit with no modifications.Peter
TheThing
yep it came off a SW 130 recently advertised on the sale board. My mount is a Soligor which, as far as I can tell, is an EQ3-2.
Cornelius Varley
The SW130 normally comes on the EQ2 mount not the EQ3-2 so the motor drive wouldn't fit an EQ3-2 mount, the gearing is different aswell so tracking would be inaccurate. The Soligor mount is one of there I think GSO Skyview mount which I think is somewhere between an EQ3-2 and an EQ5 (maybe an EQ4 type).Peter
TheThing
Apologies, it was from a 150 . That mount is exactly the same as what I have though. I'll have to e-mail them and see if they do a motor drive to fit, unless there is one available in this country?
Astro_Baby
Do you have a pic of it - might help with knowing what the issue is
TheThing
Thanks for the advice. It looks, though, that I have bought an EQ3-2 motor when I actaully need an EQ4 motor! D'oh!I've e-mailed Teleskop Express to see if they have one. The mount is exactly the same as the GSO Skyview in the link above, although it was marketed as a Soligor when my dad bought it.
