Filter Wheel - £300!?

Recommended Posts

I've been researching some cameras for planetary imaging - with the Imaging Source DMK cameras looking attractive at under £300. I was inclining towards the monochrome version because of the higher resolution, but have just had a shock at the price of filter wheels - more expensive than the camera for what I would think is a fairly simple bit of kit! Is one really necessary? Can you switch filters manually and still get a decent result?

EDIT: I've found some cheaper ones now, panic over....
