October M31

Last night the moon and dew fouled stuff up later on, this was taken 7:45 to 8:45, SC3 camera + CLS filter + 135mm camera lens on the HEQ5 mount. Camera sat on top of ST80 for aiming purposes. 200subs @25 seconds, one dark frame.

Stacked and dark subtracted in registax, levels and curves in Photoshop, one layer so the core isn't pasted on like my last one.

I have no idea what the dark line down the right hand side is for, anybody got an idea? (I was going to repair it but that way you don't learn stuff).

As to the dark line i don't know sorry maybe interferance to the camera(power?)....

Excellent CC. You are certainly getting the measure of this target. I think M31 is a B to image. Out of interest, were you using any gain with the 25 sec subs? The image is just asking for Noels "make stars smaller" action to be applied to it!

Gain was about 10%. Got to get hold of Noel's Actions but I keep forgetting. On the to-do list.
