hi again all and thanks again for the kind welcomes.

ok after a getting to know my scope tonight i pointed at the moon and took a photo.

i know its not totally in focus but it was taken holding a cheap 5mp camere at the eyepiece, this was the best of the shots.

Welcome to SGL, this really is a great forum. Good to see from your photo that you have jumped straight in. I'm not sure whether I want my first photo as clear as yours - I'm working on the basis if the first one is truly awful, then I can only improve :D

I know the issue with neighbour's lights. Mine occasionally decide to test their 500 W halogen light for no apparent reason. Never for long though.
