Where shall I buy my scope?

Am looking to buy the explorer 200 HEQ5 SkyScan. Not sure if such a topic can b discussed on here but if not a PM would be appreciated. Ive found the cheapest places I can sofar, but Im Guessing you guys will Know somewhere cheaper.

I take it that there will not be any case to put the scope in for transportation as i havnt seen any reference to this in the adverts. What would be my best option with regard to this?

Quality scope cases are made by an American company JMI but they are not cheap and I am not aware of anyone who officially imports them. Also, they cater mostly for short-tube scopes and SCT's.

Myself, I wrap the tube in a blanket, lay it on the car back-seat and secure it with the seat-belt. The mount essentially separates into two pieces (excluding counterweights) that fit easily into the car boot.

I wouldn't worry too much; my Dobsonian lives outside in a garage with a cover over it and seems perfectly happy.

If you can bring it indoors where it is dry, ideal. For long-term storage, silica gel (ordered from the chemist) sewn into a cloth bag is a good idea.
