Modified astro scope for solar viewing

Hi gang, Im on a bit of a shoestring atm whilst saving for a 300 dob.

Ive just made a solar scope with my old astral 400 60mm (fl 700) refractor and a home made filter incorporating a cut out baader solar sheet.

Nice view and it works well imo. Ive been bitten by the solar observing bug well and truly. How can i improve on this setup further without spending mega bucks?

Is there a filter that can be used in conjunction to show more prominences or will a separate filter need to be purchased? :)

Yes but it will cost over £1,000. You need an ultra narrow band filter to show prominences, the best deep sky Ha filters have about 100 times the bandwidth required. Ha etalons are incredibly difficult to make (better than 1/100 wavelength!) hence the high price.
