Astronomy on OU Open Learn

Recommended Posts

Hi all, apologies if this has been mentioned before - I discovered that the Open University makes some of its course materials available for free on its Open Learn web site. These are links to those most obviously interesting to Astronomers:

Level One:

Jupiter and its Moons

The Evolving Universe

The Moon

The Sun

Level Two:

Comparing Stars

Icy Bodies - Europa and elsewhere

Introduction to Active Galaxies

Telescopes and Spectrographs

The Restless Universe

Level Three:

An Overview Of Active Galaxies

The Big Bang

As far as I can tell these are all texts from actual OU courses, past and present, so if you have been wondering what there courses are like these might give a feel for that.

I've selected the print version and then 'printed' them to PDF for reading on the way home - should keep me occupied for a little while!
