Stellarium controlled supertrack mount

Hi all , i've been thinking about connecting my supertrack mount to a netbook and using Stellarium to control it . I was wondering if stellarium will take care of the tracking and also if manual adjustment was needed can this be done in stellarium ( as my hanset will be unplugged ) thanks .

I'm not 100% on the supatrack mount as I use a synscan but if you haven't already you may need to purchase either a USB/Serial or bluetooth interface unit in order to connect it to the pc.......see here towards the bottom of the page Ursa Minor planetarium program - SkyTour version . You can mod the mount yourself if your brave supatrakmounthacking (rwgastro). With regards to stellarium it may work using the celestron drivers but I cant be sure it will definatly work.

You will need an interface circuit as described here. The circuit shows a splitter port to allow the handset to be connected at the same time. Without the handset connected I don't think Stellarium will slew the mount as you are intending, only to specific targets.

It mentions in the first link I sent that a usb gamepad can be used for slewing manually. I have no idea if additional software is needed for this though.
