Sorry, I must have sounded blunt - I didn't mean to.

Its just that at 100 iso, you shouldn't be getting any noise.

When you work on the image, is it saved each time as a jpeg? If so, how many times has it been re-saved? (If you work on a jpeg, every time you save, the jpeg process degrades the image further, producing more artefacts :laugh:).

Blimey! Just logged onto the laptop and it looks REALLY pants!!!

Steve, in answer, no, the only time it was saved as JPEG was for publishing, all other processing was done as 16 bit TIFFS.

Ah well, back to the drawing imaging board!! I'll take another look at how what I've done :laugh:
