wonderfull prominence

the sun is out again:) and so is the pst

and their is a superb prominence visible in the 4 o,clock position.

taking the form of a large arch attached on one end

the other end is almost reaching the surface 'has it broken free'.

their are lots of filaments projecting from the arch.

and in the centre of the arch their is a smaller example.

will keep a watch on it to see how it develops or decays;)

wow, in the last 20 mins a large very bright filament devolped in the centre of the arch then decayed

and the arch itself is becoming fragmented

by 1230 local time only the 2 ends of remain.

there are still plenty more prominences visible.

including another large but rather fainter example in the 11 o,clock position

just unbelievable that this is visible from your back garden with a 500 quid scope !!
