Hi (again)

Hi All,

Just thought I would say hi (again) I joined last June after purchasing a EQ5 mount which turned out to be faulty and was subsequently sent back.

As it turns out I have just finished watching wonders of the solar system with Brian Cox and it has reawakened my astronomy passion which had wained since my experience with the EQ5 mount. So Im now contemplating making the plunge to get an EQ6 pro mount to mount my scope on as I begin to build u my astronomy equipment, but Im finding it hard to make the jump and spend all that money.

So whilst I ponder this I shall be dipping in and out of the forums, reading posts and hopefully getting to know you all a bit better.

Hi again Digz, an EQ6 is probably the most mount you'll ever need and perfect for astrophotography.

By the way, what scope do you have?

If you plan to do astrophotography, then the EQ6 is the way to go. For visual work iI find it too heavy...

John, I only have a cheap scope at the moment, so my plan is to get the EQ6 try the scope out on that then eventually (probably sooner rather than later knowing me) get a new scope, maybe a skywatcher 150pl for example.
