Rolll Over Roof

Having priced up the cost of 2 x 4 metre lengths of angle iron - £11 not bad, then got the delivery price - £22 !!! I needed another way to roll off the roof.

Mine is going back over the warm room due to lack of room, so I came up with this idea, three rollers facing down as usual, and 2 facing inwards to control side movement.

Looks as though it should work. Keep us posted if it is okay. I haven't decided how I'm doing my rolling roof yet.

One thing I have found is that the wood ends up a different size depending how damp the weather is....make sure you give yourself a little leeway.

I built my obs in a wet January/February....come the summer, all the wood had dried out and things started to jam!!

I have left 1/2" (12mm) play to alow for a bit of lateral movement. hopefully this will alow for a bit of shrinkage/swelling of the timbers.
