Lightbridge collimation

Recommended Posts

I am thoroughly impressed by the way my 16" LB is holding collimation. After all the carting around of it I have done over the last 5 or 6 observing sessions without checking collimation (lazy I know!) I checked it today with my cheshire and it is still spot on from last time :p

Big thumbs up from me :headbang:

Wow thats impressive !

My 12" Lightbridge needed collimation fine tuning each time it was used - I assumed that the 16", with all that glass weight would be even more sensitive.

Obviously not, which is great for you :headbang:

I know...I was expecting to have to do some fine tuning. The last time I collimated I did do up the collimation locks fairly robustly, and I suppose to be fair the OTA doesn't go very far to storage. But with just the cooling and warming of the glass I thought there would be some movement, not this time though
