Bigwings
Time was limited tonight which is shame as the seeing was good and the skies C.L.E.A.R.Better not say it cos it dont happen often. I set the SE8 up with the focal reducer F6.3and the 40mm EP just as Rigel and Mars appeared from the twilight skies. After an hour I did a tour with the Goto.M42 looking good with trapezium small but bright in the wide field view. Open Cluster M35, M36 & M37 looking good. I thought I would look for the Crab Nebula having never managed to find it nestling down towards the horizon a touch from the three open cluster. Dont think I would find it without the goto but there it was just off center in FOV. A dim fuzzy but there it was... YES.Its often described as disappointing but I was pleased just to bag the beggar.Alas....work beckons .....Clear SkiesMike
