My first image

This is my first attempt at imaging. Used a Nexstar 5SE and Neximage webcam and Registax. Struggled with focus when attempting to use a barlow lens, and it was a full moon which seemed to considerably affect the exposure settings... Would love to hear what more experienced iamgers think of this effort and open to all hints and tips!

Not much more experienced, but it is as good as I ever seem to get with the 6SE.

Like it ... keep on with the imaging ... everyone will tell you, it is a steep learning curve.

Yup, focus is a pain with a barlow... It's a great first image, but it looks a tad overexposed - perhaps try lowering the gain/upping the framerate a bit. I'm not familiar with the Neximage, but does the capture program have a histogram function? If so, aim for 160-200 max (if it doesn't you could try wxAstrocapture and see if the Neximage is supported in that as it does have a histogram function and it's free )

Also pushing wavelets too far will increase the contrast and effectively cause over exposure in parts of the image as well
