Not quite sure where this belongs... here is probably best...

A corker this morning, first time I've seen one too... I spotted it on the way out, showing it to my youngest, and pointing out how I'd made it safe, by putting a house between us and the sun, to never ever look at the sun, and not to try and show it to his friends EVER!!!! Thankfully 15 minutes later it was still there...

Not an easy thing to capture, well done John.

It reminds me of an occasion some 40 year's ago I saw a halo like that and there was also a horizontal circle passing through the Sun all the way round the sky and where it crossed the halo were the sun dogs. Unfortunately no camera.

Nice captures. I last saw a sun halo in June 2007.

John I managed to see this as well, it was preceded by a sun dog to the east, I later saw this to the west. Lovely sight, nice image.
