Where do we go from here? That's easy to answer - get two Ethos 13mm's - stick 'em in a pair of Denkemier binoviewers - then attach the assembly to an RC astrograph.

I'll be happy to just pick up some nicely priced "pre-owned" EPs of a decent enough quality.

My favorite EP is a 0.965" 40mm of unknown origin. It offers some lovely wide field views in all my scopes, although I know I am losing so much when it is in the 2" focuser of the 10" SNT.

0.965" 40mm? that has a very restricted AFOV (about 33 deg if I did my math right). My favourite wide field is my 40mm Paragon at 69 deg, that's more than 4x the solid angle. I would really try to get something like that.
