mintron camera's

hi all

i have always been intersted in the mintron camera's as they seem

so reasonable price wise compared to a lot of imaging devices.

i know they cannot compete with a proper ccd camera,or can they

any comments from users or usefull advice , links etc

I haven't had a lot of chance to use mine since it was purchased due to weather and training commitments, but I am quite impressed with what I have done. Recently managed to get an image of Saturn with no less than five of its moons, which given the streetlights I thought was not too bad. Got mine from Modern Astronomy. Excellent service (see suppliers review writeup).

The 12V6 is a really versatile camera. I just dont know why everyone hasnt got one of these in their kit bag.

1 using them with a telly you can see far more LIVE than through the ep.

2 link it to a capture card and you can take quite respectable images, the images arent S@N gallery material but you wouldnt expect that from a 200 quiid camera

3 I use mine for guiding as well
