Now that is looking good. You have some good detail in the core there and some red is starting to appear. have you added some more subs? Looks like a 40 sec exposure would be ok but taking 40 of them and stacking! You would have a true belter of an image then

I have tried taking more than one sub and stacking them on Registax but each of the subs objects were in different places on each image, only by a fraction so when I stacked them I got a blurred Pic. I tried selecting a star to align them but that did not work either. I am obvious doing something wrong. With me Registax works ok with planets where I have a large image to align with but not stars. I am sure that you will put me right as you have given me valuable help in the past to get me where I am now.

Try Registar that will solve your problem no probs.

This will rotate and align your images for you and it will do

it with images of different sizes taken with other scopes.

Oh and it will stack them too. 8)

The problem with registar is that it is pretty expensive at $149 That's as much as ImagesPlus. Deepsky stacker is getting good reviews since it can cope with rotation and is free. I am not sure if Robin's problem is due to the way he is using registax or with a problem such as field rotation. I want a play with his subs though cos there is a good image emerging there
