Orion Trapezium in RGB with DMK 21

Recommended Posts

- 150/750 Newtonian

- DMK 21

- Baader RGB Filters

- 2 second exposures, 180-200 frame avi for each channel

- simple flat, and dark frame

The result is quite nice for me  I couldn't use filter selector, as it wouldn't focus then, so I had to take out the cam to change the filters (which makes that rotation on edges as I stacked on the trapezium stars). But short 1,25" eyepiece holder rind should help. Seeing was good, but windy, which did blurred some frames.

I watched a documentary the other day about how the trap lights up the surrounding gas and they had a 3D fly-though of the position of each of the stars, it was fascinating

That's a great capture you can see the detail in the gas right into the middle, you can see they have carved out a space in the neb due to radiation
