Bode's Galaxies

We've had a couple of clear nights in a row here The second was cut short when cloud started to roll in though.

Imaged M81 and M82, and got the bonus of NGC 3077 in the bottom right as well.

Modded 350D + cls filter, Skywatcher ED80 F/7.5, EQ6 Pro Mount

23 x 8mins (guided), 3hrs 4mins, Darks and flats.

Hopefully keep adding to this slowly...

First rate Ha signal in the cigar and very good processing of the spiral with a natural looking core.

Impressive image. With more time you will, above all, be able to sharpen the Cigar.

and 81 looks superb. As you say, a bonus with NGC3077.

I used the CCD CLS clip filter. Which differs from the CLS clip filter in that it is UV / IR block.

Amazing image Jordan. Great details along the field.

I´m thinking about removing the IR filter from my Canon 300 D without a replacement. Do you know if that would work with the CLS CCD Clip filter. I don´t care about the autofocus.

Yes, the CLS CCD clip filter should be used if the IR filter is removed.

If you replace the filter with the Baader filter then you just need the CLS clip filter as the Baader blocks UV / IR anyway.
