NEQ6 mounting problems.

Morning all,

Just bought a Losmandy plate from Altair Astro and it doesn't fit the Losmandy puck on my NEQ6 mount.

Any other NEQ6 owners had any problems?

Its as if the plate is 2mm too wide, I could machine a couple of mm's out of the puck as the dimension of my Altair plate match the dimensions of someone else's Losmandy plate, so it looks like the Skywatcher puck isnt a true Losmandy fit.

Bizarre.

Problem solved, amazing what you can do with a hacksaw and a file. See DIY section later.

If you check out the Altair website and look at the Geoptic page, you'll see that the new NEQ6 has a different Puck design from the previous models. I found an old model puck didn't safely fit.... just too neat for the grub screws to hold... changed to the new design... no problems!!
