Heq5 park position

Sorry, complete novice with these things but I was thinking... if I was to park my scope on an Heq5 mount in my observatory then when I close the roof it will hit the top of the scope. I have a raised floor to increase the horizon view but I don`t really want to have to lower the floor level. Is it fine to move the scope after parking it by unlocking the dec axis so as to enable the roof to be closed?

Yes is the answer.

Just swing the scope back to the proper "park" orientation when next you use it..

There is another option:

Nominate and save a "home" position instead of the normal "Park" position.
