the moon 24-12-09

i thought i would share this pic of the moon taken christmas eve of last year. the shot was via my usual kit, but on this occasion i used the digital zoom on the camera to take an "edited shot". the craters of the south to me enhance the shot more.

scope 127mm sky watcher, camera samsung nv4 8mp, e/p 20mm.

its camera zoom. the image is focused via the scopes focus knob, then i use the cameras zoom to enlarge the image, then take the photo. somtimes after the shoot i can look at any pic taken off scope, and edit the pic within the camera, before i up load to my lappy. the shots are always afocal via a 20mm or a 25mm e/p.

'Peppered with craters' was my first thought. Nice capture of the relief in this portion of the moon!
