This one i have always found a hard target ,dont know why , guess it dont like me ehehhehe , but one thing i was pleased that i picked up a lot of nebulosity around the nebula , something i have never seen before ,

usual set up but only 30 subs at 60 secs, milky sky ,so not the best time to try i guess, binned 2x2 and processed in Maxim and PS .

That's a great shot Rog. At first I thought it was noisy but like you say it's nebulosity. Been looking at other images on the web. A lot of them were cropped to just show the crescent which is a shame when there is some much going on.

Cheers guys yes i,m getting to like these wider field images , should be in the other section i guess , but yup Marting its a shame, always seeing close up images of this object ,as there is like you say a lot going on all around this neb , still not happy with the result though , but guess its going to be like this now never satisfied.

Cheers

This one IS a tough target, Rog. There's so many stars in the field and nebulostiy all over the place, it's tough to isolate. Another experienced friend of mine and I spent almost an hour locating it in Sentinel, AZ a few years back. We could clearly see the star patterns around it, but couldn't pick out the crescent itself, even with his 12.5" Newt. We chalked up the reason to the brightness of the Wolf-Rayet star at the core. Something like the Blinking Nebula, Ngc 6826, also in Cygnus. Go figure.

Thanks Rog, I know this might sound really annoying, but when you post your ace neb pictures, could you say were there found?

Maybe when I get abit better at finding things, I wouldn't mind trying to see some of these targets.

Kain
