GordonCopestake
Took some test shots tonight with my D70. This is the plough with a 30 second exposure, f/3.5 18mm lens. You can see how bad the light pollution is at my location.

Rob
Blimey Gordon, thats shocking . Do you live next to a motor way?.Filters indeed CC. I totally agree. GordonCopestake
I did have a baader moon and skyglow filter, but what you can't see in that image is that the streetlights around me have been replaced by white ones so for visual it makes no difference. Although the orange glow comes from the nearby city and yes the motorway. I live about half a mile away from J15 on the M6 I might re-purchase the moon and skyglow filter at some point as it seems there is still a lot of orange in my sky! Kaptain Klevtsov
What ISO setting was that Gordon? I want to try mine with the same settings to see how it comes out.TIACaptain Chaos
GordonCopestake
i left it at ISO 200 because i thought any more sensitive and i'de need to reduce the exposure. I have it in my head that a longer exposure is better than a higher ISO setting as the data is "real" if that makes sense. I could be wrong though
