9th Feb - sky cleared - viewed sun

Just after 16.00 hours the sky cleared in Hereford. Took out the PST and the Hyperion Zoom for a view of the Sun.

Three sunspots groups 1045, 1046 and 1047. 1045 is quite a complex group of spots. A nice looped prominence in the northern hemisphere.

These sunspots should still be visible over the next few days. Further information on SOLARCYCLE 24.com

Nice work Mark it must be very satisfying to view our own star in such close quarters.

I am looking to get some solar film soon, to try and spot some sunspots of my own.
