yeti monster
Having recently recieved my wee bundle of joy, namely some 0.965" EPs etc. I'm wondering, does anyone still make this size of EP, do they make Plossl ones and are they of good quality. As yet I haven't had opportunity to use any of my "new" stock, but I sure am looking forward to seeing how they perform.I'm sure they will open up ye olde Prinz 86mm newt but I'm wondering what a difference some really good quality EPs will do. AndyH
Kokusai Kohki of Japan, Kokusai Kohki goods where the renound volcano top ortho's come from, offer the afforementioned ortho's and kellners in .965" barrels. The ortho's of course, are excellent and I find these well made kellners rather good also. Got their Kellner 6, 9 and 12mm versions in 1.25" size.Plossls in .965"...................not so sure.Cheers,Andy.
michael.h.f.wilkinson
I used to have a very decent 25mm ortho in 24.5 mm (0.965") size. It was a polarex, but I would not know if anything like it is still made. They made symmetric achromatic eyepieces, which are similar to Plossls. Haven't seen Plossl in that format. John
Some of the best orthos I've used were the Vixen (circle V) .965" ones. They are not made any more but do come up used from time to time. Really sharp eyepieces.
