M1 wide field and full moon

I wasnt going to bother with this one being so small in the field, but after seeing one done by noel and greg i just had to give it a go.......it wasnt ideal with the full moon causing gradients and my flats didnt match properly but it gave me the chance to test out these filters, RGB by Orange Bright with a UV/IR block in line.....ive found im getting much better star colour with the ir/uv filter

exposure times were 30mins in each RGB and H-alpha

Thats a great image Pete with quite good detail picked up for the image scale. The star colours look really good too.

thanks kevin....not a great shot of m1, but it was really only an exercise to see how well these filters worked with the UV/IR blocking filter in place, no sign of halos with these filters!!!

Yes the star colour does look good and so does the colour in M1.

thanks martin, it does look a bit lonely in this field...but as someone has said to me "Gives it a sense of isolation you don't get from the close-in shots".
