Salisbury Plain 29 Jan

Recommended Posts

Evening all,

Just to let you know that the next Salisbury Plain Observing Group social will take place on 29 Jan. Mars will be at opposition with the moon nearby so a planetary-lunar session.

I'll be there even if the weather is bad for a pint and a brew so hope to see you then.

New website is up and running see Salisbury Plain Observing Group - Home

Clear skies,

Mark

We had a great night, surface details on mars, lunar features and catching saturn as she rose. It was quite cold but good clothes and warm drinks made it quite pleasant.

Attendees were myself (mark), Ian, Jon and David. We observed through a 6" newt and 4" refractor in both mono and binoviewer modes.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself last night. Good pint, good sky, good company, best tea I have ever tasted. And patience explaining it all to a newcomer. Thanks.

Can now relax having seen detail on Mars. Lets do it again - soon.

David B.
