How do you connect your camera for prime focus?

Hi all,

Ive been taking shots using the built in slr connector on the supplied 1 1/4 eyepiece connector with my Skywatcher 200P. I find though, that this causes vignetting in my pics. I cant connect the camera using the 2" adapter as, even with a low profile connector, I cant get close enough to the scope to gain proper focus. Is there a low profile connector for Skywatcher scopes in 2"? How do you connect YOUR camera to your Skywatcher in the 2" format? Or am I missing something here?

Oh, and after setting up for the last hour, yup, the clouds just rolled in... again!!

Thanks for any help guys.

Thanks for the reply Deneb. I already have the T Adapter but its the actual supplied 2" eyepice holder that came with the scope thats too long. There must be someone here who has/has had a 200P that performed Prime Focus? Hmmm... new moonlight focuser does seem the way to go.

Well when I had my 8" Newts all my images were done in Prime Focus using the Direct SLR Connection or a Moonlite Focuser with a 2" T mount camera adaptor, if your having problems with vignetting, then consider making yourself a lightbox to take flats, their both very easy to make. Even using a 2" adaptor you will still get some vignetting.

If your having problems with your inward focus, I could only suggest what I have said before buying yourself a low profile focuser eg. the moonlite, they just ooze quality & you can buy a universal base plate so it will fit on different size reflectors.

A CR1 is good enough unless you want something more fancy e.g CR2 with a Tri-Knob, I found Steve @FLO to give very good advice about these focusers as he is a Moonlite Stockist :). Any further info about them, you might want to drop a line to him or a pm.

Cheers
