The Southern Cross and the Milky Way

Recommended Posts

Hi, I took this image while I was on holiday in New Zealand. It was taken without a tripod, all I had available was a picnic table to balance my camera on. After every exposure I had to pick up the camera to see what I'd captured and then reposition the camera.

The image shows the Southern Cross and Milky Way.

Hi Peter.

Good capture there, once again proving you don't have to have expensive tracking equipment to capture star fields.

If you've got a number of exposures of the same field of view, use Deep Sky Stacker to stack them and watch while even more stars and faint stuff appears.
