Dew heater tapes sizes

I need a heater tape for my 9.25 SCT and have been offered a heater tape to fit a 14-16" ota.

Would this be too big or is it possible to use it wrapped round on itself?

I will be using a temperature sensing controller ( Kendrick Digifire 10)

Unless you can get a whole number of turns with the longer tape around the samller OTA then you could possibly get uneven heating ... you will also probably want to run the longer tape at a lower level as its likely to have a higher Watts rating than the proper tape ...

Thanks, it will overlap about 4 or 5 inches which means it will have double the heat on one part of the ota. I think I will leave it and hold out for a 9" to 10" tape, dont want to unevenly heat the corrector........
