NGC2237 - The Rosette Nebula

Earlier in the week was the first time I have had a chance to use my one shot colour CCD in ages - the following is the result. SXVF-M25C on on 80mm APO Refractor with WO 0.8 Focal Reducer, EQ6 SkyScan Mount. 20 images of 600 secs. each, guided, processed in PS7. Average seeing, average transparency - some wispy cloud.

Hi Peter, strangely, on here, it is showing the lack of a FLAT frame rather alarmingly unless it is just my laptop over-emphasing it!

Great image Steve, nice subtle colour. I can see a slight halo on my quite harsh lappy screen, nothing a flat frame wouldn't sort though.

There more of a dark ring than a vignette as the corners seem to be a simnilar level to the background the otherside of the narrow dark ring....

Very Nice Processing Steve, I have yet to process the other 45mins of data of NGC 2237 which i done the other night.

That's a great FOV for the rosette steve. Some nice fainter outer gas and the rosette is showing some lovely colour. Hope it's not as long until you are out again

Thanks for your helpful comments, folks. I am hoping to get some flats taken today using an electroluminescent screen and I am looking forward to re-processing this data to see if it works!
