Hi all

An amazingly clear and dark night last night. Star jump from midnight till about 3am blown away with the views and frozen to the bone. Felt like Christmas had come early. Sorry for rant just had to tell some one;):)

Very clear night in GL4 but unable to view as the wife is poorly so needs attention until her op, so i'm disappointed to have missed these viewing opportunities.

I packed up at 8.30am, never seen so much ice form on my telescope before, left it uncovered outside to see if it will thaw...Fantastic skies though...

The outside of the kit was all covered in frost by the end of the 11 hour imaging session. Luckily the astrozap dewhield/heater from FLO managed to keep the objective lens completely free of frost. As my warm room isnt finished yet, my laptop was out in the observing section, I took the precaution of covering it over with a piece of board when I went in the house, and good job too, as the board was covered with a good layer of frost.

It's is supposed to be warming up at the weekend apparently....

Don't try and make the weather warm up! Cold air is better for seeing.

Unfortunately, I have gone down with a rotten cold so was not able to take advantage of the clear sky last night.

Had an early visit from from one of the three wise men last night.... 'King freezing!

-8degrees here (300m high in the Pennines) at 11am when I came in to thaw out. Needed heaters for the scope and for the EP's .. and for my feet
