martin_h
You know how you know things without realy thinking about it? I've just recieved a Skywatcher Evostar 100ED DS-Pro from FLO, now I'm used to the 1 1/4" fittings on my Nexstar8 SE and hadn't realy thought about 2" kit before, but after opening the nice ally carry case I was blown away by the size of the diagonal and supplied lens - its HUGE! lol daft I know. I've had it 3 days now and only just looked at the scope itself today! Unfortunatly I wont be able to get out with it till the new year.
Capricorn
There does appear to be a disproportionate difference in size when going from 1.25 to 2 inch.I have one of each diagional sat side by side and there doesn't seem to be any way in that the 2" is just about half as big again as the 1.25".Sure I could get the whole 1.25 diagional inside the tube section for the 2" eyepiece. Doc
Imagine if they invented 3" eyepieces, the mind boggles just thinking about the size of them.
Peter Drew
I've made a few 3" fit eyepieces using 50mm bino objectives as a plossl eyepiece of 4" focus for use with camera obscuras!
