South African meteoroid on 22 November

I was in Pretoria for 2 days in November and as luck would have it managed to fly to Cape Town a couple of hours before this meteoroid hit! pretoria meteor - Google News

Some of my mates saw it and they all describe it as the craziest thing they've ever seen! Gutted I missed it, so very gutted!

The interesting thing is that around the same date there were reports of similar sightings in Utah and Australia. Could these be large fragments of the Leonid shower or is this something else completely?

WOW........thats by far the biggest meteor i have ever seen.

Yeah it's pretty crazy!! And the odds of such an event actually happening over a large city and witnessed by thousands of people (and security cameras) must be so small.
