nicnac
when my prezzie gets here (TAL150P) i will have some pennies left from my budget to consider an EQ mount (after buying a few radians), which would be best, the EQ3syn or the EQ5syn?It comes on a mount anyway but i may want the auto tracking option later on (for pics)
barkis
When it comes to mounts, one should always always err on the side of size as an insurance against possible upgrade. On that basis, go for the EQ5 syn. Ron:).

Merlin66
IMHO it would be better to pass on a couple of eyepieces to get the best mounting you can. The best eyepieces in telescope on a wobbly soft mounting amount to nothing! The HEQ5 Syntrek would be a good compromise; upgradeable to GOTO etc later.Ken
nicnac
good input merlin66 but i wont be imaging straight away, i am going to spend the first year (ish) learning the sky with the TAL 150P so the mount it comes on should be fine but the EPs, nah, will need something better than the supplied ones, me thinks
