The song Astronomy by Blue Oyster Cult, quite awesomely covered by Metallica in the 90's. "Astronomyyyyyyyyyyyy. A staaaaaaaaaaar!"

The albums Spheres and Spheres II by Delerium.

And this bit from The Answer by Bad Religion:

"at a time when wise men peered

through glass tubes toward the sky

the heavens changed in predictable ways

and one man was able to find

that he had thought he found the answer

and he was quick to write his revelation

but as they were scutinized

in his colleagues eyes

he soon became a mockery"

Soundtrack to the Carl Sagan series; Cosmos especially the main theme by Vangelis. Puts me right in the spaced-out mood, a very happy, glorious piece.

Oh - and Lux Aeterna by Gyorgy Ligeti, used in '2001 a space odyssey'.

Lux Aeterna was used during the flight from moonbase at clavius to the site of the monolith - it's seems to capture the 'stillness over aeons' feeling of being on the moon,
