1St attempt at Orion Nebula

Recommended Posts

So, I finally get a clear sky.... and have to work!

Got back at Midnight dashed out with scope in case clouds cleared... they did!

I got 8 30 second subs at iso 800 prime focus. Didnt capture the red and its buned out but I'm just glad to get going really. I'm quite pleased really considering I'm a newb.

I wonder why DeepSkyStacker decided only 2 subs were suitable for stacking and if I can change DSS's level of fussyness?

A relaxing hobby this is not.... thanks for looking, feel free to pass on any tips :headbang:

Very nice result there. You can adjust the "fussiness" of DSS star detection. In registering, advanced, you can adjust the slider to change how sensitive the star detection threshold is. The lower the number the more stars detected. Probably don't want to drop below 2 or 3 % though.
