Help ! I think I have moisture between the elements on my achro lens.

I was using my Tal refractor last night and it was a pretty cold night, when I finished up I put the scope back in the shed but I left the caps at both ends off, with the objective pointing downwards.

When I had a look this afternoon there was condensation on the outside of the objective which I dried with a hair dryer.

when I had another look the objective looked "cloudy", I have taken the objective off the OTA and gently warmed both sides, but the cloudiness is still there , so Im presuming that its between the two elements.

Is there some way of solving this , even if it involves professional help, or is it beyond repair ?

It certainly doesn't sound good.

Are you a member of the Yahoo Talscopes group Crepitis ? There was a

member there who had to take the objective apart and who put it back

together again. Might be worth getting touch with him for advice.

If it is condensation between the elements then there is no need to worry. Just leave it indoors with the front and rear caps off, the condensation will eventually disperse
